INT. Hallway - Early Morning

ABBY BARTLET walks silently down the hall, surrounded by her Secret Service Agents. She passes an agent stationed in the hallway.

AGENT:
(Speaking into hand mic)
Lady Liberty is by.

CUT TO:

INT. Josh's Office - Same time

He is asleep at his desk.

DONNA:
(OS)
Yeah, okay. Thanks.

We HEAR a phone being hung up and DONNA enters the office. She proceeds to turn on both the overhead light and the desk lamp.

DONNA:
Josh, wake up.

He mutters something unintelligible.

DONNA:
The first lady'll be here any second.

JOSH:
(Mumbles)
What's she want?

DONNA:
I dunno.

JOSH:
Tell her I'm not here.

ABBY appears in the doorway but JOSH still has yet to really lift his head and when he does, it's to look at DONNA.

DONNA:
I'm not gonna tell her you're not here.

JOSH:
Why not?

DONNA:
Because you are here.

JOSH:
(Whining)
Donna-

DONNA:
Why do you so desperately want to avoid this conversation?

JOSH:
Because every time Abby comes down here she usually makes me go talk to Amy Gardner or some other…femi-nazi who believes that it's my job to solve all the problems with the women of the world.

ABBY:
Well then God save the women of the world if it's you who's working to solve their problems.

JOSH leaps to his feet.

JOSH:
(A little embarrassed)
Good morning, ma'am.
(To Donna)
How do you always do this?

DONNA:
(Innocently)
Do what, Josh?

DONNA exits.

JOSH:
So. What can I do for you, ma'am?

ABBY:
I believe you know.

JOSH:
This has to do with the Women in Congress thing, doesn't it?

ABBY:
Yes.

JOSH:
And who do I have to go see this time?

ABBY:
I believe first you should change your attitude.

JOSH:
Who do I…*get* to see this time?

ABBY:
Atta boy.

JOSH:
Anyone but Amy.

ABBY:
Well, that's good, since I had Donna book you an appointment to speak with her.

JOSH:
(Looks pained)
Oh…thank you, ma'am.

ABBY:
Sorry Donna couldn't just tell me you weren't here, now, aren't you?

JOSH:
Yes.

ABBY:
Tell Amy I say hello.

She smiles and walks out.

CUT TO:

INT. Josh's Bullpen - Continuous

CJ is passing through on her way in for the day. She sees Abby.

CJ:
You're making Josh go see Amy again?

ABBY:
Yes indeed.

They high-five as they pass.

SMASH CUT TO:
